The way internet has positively affected our daily life can perhaps only be compared to the invention of steam engine, one of the major factors causing the first industrial revolution. Internet has truly brought the whole world closer and turned it into a large village where inhabitants are known as netizen. For its wide-ranging usage and benefits, internet has brought in unprecedented changes in the society and has provided a platform for further changes that still go on after more than three decades since its arrival in public.
Internet technology was primarily invented with the intention of enhancing research and studies, and as expected, it has revolutionized the way we study and seek knowledge today. Internet has truly democratized the knowledge, creating access for everyone to loads of information available in public domain. That means, a willful mind can now self-educate and go on a mission to attain knowledge in any field from anywhere in the world.
Internet has made life much easier than ever before in whatever senses you may imagine. Welcome to today's conversation everyone. First of all, a big shout out to those who attended todays WE adda. I first used Internet in 2001. One day, Razib vai took me to a cyber cafe. I booked a pc but could not understand anything. I was very irritated. Then one day he told me about this websited called Google. That was the first time, I heard about this website.
In the summer semester of 2002, I changed my major. Till then, I was in BBA. That semester I switched to English. After the first class of Literature course, I came to Razib vai and told him to explain the lessons. At that time, he used to sit in a cyber cafe. Instead of explaining to me, he Googled and downloaded few articles. Seeing it, for the first time in my life, I realized the importance and benefit of Internet.
This little incident motivated me a lot. I understood that I must know how to browse Internet and look up information. For the next one year, I regularly worked with Razib vai. We used to sit in a cyber cafe at Zigatola.
At present, if you do not know how to browse internet then you will never get any job. Knowing how to browse Internet and how to collect information is a basic skill. If you do not have this skill then you will only suffer.
